Jacqueline Fernandez born in Colombo, Western Province, Fernandez belongs to Sinhalese family. Her fafther's native place is Negombo who noe lives in Malaysia and her mother is from Kandy. At the little age, her family migrated to Bahrain from where she did her schooling. She completed her graduation in mass media from the Murrey University in Melbourne, Australia . It was from there, she planned to chose Modelling as her career followed by serving for various fashion shows Australia, Singapore, Dubai and Sri Lanka Her career- Fernandez earned the title of Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006.

After contending at the pageant of Miss Universe she started her work as an anchor on Lanka Business Report where she use to write weekly column for The Daily Mirror, at the time she continued modeling in India. In year 2006, she made her first acting debut for a fascinating Bollywood movie, Alladin. The movie was directed by Sujoy Gosh,. It was this movie which added spark to her career as she got an opportunity to work with B Towns big fames Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and Ritesh Deshmukh.In the movie, She potraited the character of Jasmine, the new girl in college who has come from America.
